Introduction

All 34 2024 SS products for delivery starting March 2024 will be sold on a preorder basis.
We plan on delivering products to everyone who places an order during this period. We look forward to seeing you there!

How to apply

1. Preorder at the Yamatomichi online shop

Preorder period: 10:00 a.m. July 7th – 31st, 10:00 a.m. (JST)
Preorder limit: 3 of each product (Including different colors and sizes)

Preorder process

１. Create a Yamatomichi account (recommended)
If you don’t already have a Yamatomichi account, we recommend creating one. Registering an account will allow you to check order details and the latest scheduled delivery date on your account page.

Enter the required information and click “Create.” A confirmation message will be sent to your registered email address. Click the link in the message and log in to your account to complete registration.
* Please make sure to register the email address you’ll use when ordering.

２. Preorder at the online shop

* Please make sure to use your registered email address when ordering. If you use a different email address, you will not be able to check the order details or latest scheduled delivery dates.

Checking the scheduled delivery dates

The scheduled delivery date can be found in the order confirmation email sent once you place an order (Subject: Yamatomichi | Order Confirmation). We will notify you of the latest scheduled delivery dates around March 2024.
You can check the latest scheduled delivery date in the order history section of your account page.

Canceling a preorder

The scheduled delivery date can be found in the order confirmation email sent once you place an order (Subject: Yamatomichi | Order Confirmation). We will notify you of the latest scheduled delivery dates around March 2024. Note, however, that the following conditions apply when canceling.

The cutoff date for canceling online shop preorders is March 10, 2024.
Our preorder system only allows for cancellation of an entire order. Individual items cannot be canceled. Once the preorder period is over, you will not be able to reorder your items.
Preorders cannot be changed, so please consider the options carefully before making a purchase.

You can preorder items at the following Yamatomichi brick-and-mortar shops and dealers.
The prototype will NOT be exhibited, but the fabric samples of our 2024 items will be displayed at the below brick-and-mortar shops. Product samples will be shown at Trunk Shows, so make sure to stop by (excluding some locations).

Why do we sell on a preorder basis?

Just like last year, we will sell our 2024 products after taking preorders from customers. Our products can take more than six months to complete, however, because they have been so difficult to come by, we decided preorder sales were the best way to ensure that everyone can purchase exactly what they want.

We sometimes get accused of intentionally producing few items to increase the novelty and desirability of our products. The opposite is true. In fact, we continuously increase our production capacity, but still can’t meet the growing demand.

Some say we should just produce even more products, and of course, while doing so could make them more widely available, more inventory usually also means more waste. While it is important to produce products with a high recycling rate, I believe that it is important not to produce products that end up as waste in the first place.

In many cases, our product development starts from the development of the fabric. It would be easier if we used ready-made fabrics, but instead we weave the material, dye it, and shape it, which increases the overall production time.

Our products are made in Japan, which may no longer be the world leader in terms of manufacturing. Many manufacturers produce their products in large factories in Vietnam and China using cutting-edge technologies. If we did the same, we could probably increase our production capacity quite easily. We, however, manufacture our products in Japan even though it can be time-consuming because we still believe in the power of Japanese manufacturing.

So although our options are limited, we decided to offer our 2024 products on a preorder basis so that we can remain true to our ideals and our customers. We look forward to finding even better ways to get our products into your hands in the future.

Q.　When will preorder items be delivered?
A.　Deliveries are scheduled between April and July 2024. Orders will ship as soon as production is finished, so the delivery date may differ depending on the item. You can check the scheduled delivery date for each item in the product information section of the email sent once you place an order (Subject: Order Confirmation – Yamatomichi) or in the order history section of your account page. The information on your account page is always the most up to date.

・Only unused items may be exchanged. Exchanges are still accepted if you only tried the item on.
・Exchanges are only accepted within seven days of delivery.
・Returns may be refused if we find any odors or stains from cigarettes, cosmetics, etc., upon inspection.
