Providing upcycled fabric for KINOKO SOCIAL CLUB.

Monosus Inc., which supports Yamatomichi’s organizational development, opened the KINOKO SOCIAL CLUB on Wednesday, May 14, in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, Tokyo.

KINOKO SOCIAL CLUB is a new community space built around the theme: “Rethinking Urban Food Systems Through Mushrooms.” It combines a “factory,” where mushrooms are cultivated using recycled coffee grounds from the local area, with a “café” that prepares and serves dishes made from the harvested mushrooms.

Through workshops, study sessions, and art events centered on food circulation, the project aims to foster local urban communities and create a new food culture.

To celebrate the opening, Yamatomichi contributed leftover fabric from our product development, which was used to create aprons. These were designed and sewn by patternmaker Eriko Tsuchikawa, a Yamatomichi Friend.

We’re delighted that these upcycled aprons will be put to good use at KINOKO SOCIAL CLUB—both in the kitchen and during mushroom cultivation.

We hope you’ll take a moment to check it out!
