Yamatomichi Kamakura has reopened in Yuigahama

On Saturday, July 11, Yamatomichi Kamakura reopened in its new home on Yuigahama-dori. Since opening in Zaimokuza, the store has been more than simply a place to buy gear.

It has been a place where hikers can meet our staff, ask questions, exchange experiences, and explore ultralight hiking together.Designed by TORAFU ARCHITECTS, the new store brings that same spirit into a larger and more open space.

Located closer to Kamakura Station, between the mountains and the sea, it offers a place to pick up our gear, try it on, and take the time to understand how and why it was made.

The move also marks the beginning of a new chapter for Yamatomichi Kamakura. Through Product Focus and Store Program, the store will become a space for displays, conversations, workshops, and hands-on sessions that look more deeply at gear and the ideas behind ultralight hiking.

With the launch of our new store, we’re also beginning a new monthly series: Product Focus. Each month, we’ll take a closer look at selected Yamatomichi products through an article shaped by conversations with our shop staff and their experience in the field. The featured products will also be displayed in the store, giving visitors the chance to see them up close and talk them through with our team.
