DF Mesh Merino is an original fabric developed by Yamatomichi over several years to address the slow drying, cling when wet, and heat buildup of conventional 100% merino wool. Its double-face construction combines a hydrophobic 100% merino mesh on the skin side with a hydrophilic outer layer made from merino-wrapped nylon-core yarn. Together, they move sweat away from the skin and dry quickly. Breathable when worn alone and warm beneath a shell, it is an ideal base layer for the larger temperature swings of the coming season. However, the wool mesh can be prone to pilling, holes, and pulled threads from friction with a backpack. For rougher use, wear a shell or shirt over it.

UL All-weather Coat is an all-weather shell made from ultra-thin Pertex Shield Air using ultrasonic welding, leaving no needle holes. Its below-the-knee length protects the thighs from wind and rain, while a large packable front pocket and two-way zipper provide convenience and ventilation on the trail or around town. Its exceptional airflow comes with a trade-off: when stationary, it provides about as much warmth as a wind shell. On autumn ridgelines, pair it with active insulation such as the Alpha Vest.
